scenic design
Through my school's theater program, I have been the lead scenic designer and painter for two productions, The Princess Bride in fall of 2024 and Grease in winter of 2025.

Then came showtime. Huge thanks to our technical director Claudio Silva and the whole tech crew for making this vision possible!

This was my first design for the layout of the stage. Uniquely, I was able to play with painting the floor for this production.

Here's the before of how the lovely building team had made the set:

I then (with the help of some friends) picked out some main paint colors, along with ordering more specific ones in bulk. I then took on what wound up being the most difficult part of this process: directing a huge crew of teenagers to execute my plan.

It went pretty well, thankfully! I did some more work on miscellaneous props (such as an "angry bush" that was a rather friendly shape, if you ask me) and a rock/table that was used in various different scenes, most notably the poison-drinking one.

For Grease, my two tasks were to paint the wooden car we'd need for the production and two 6 by 12 foot flats.

2
I was then given the opportunity to use spray paint for the first time to create these flats with a diner scene in mind.

Most of the sketching that I did on the car was done entirely in the dark (hence this grainy photo) because the only time I could work was during rehearsal. I then had one 12-hour day to paint the whole car!
